How much better than Halladay is Cliff Lee? Is Lee really a lock for the Cy Young?

Halladay has been absolutely solid this season, throwing up more complete games and shut-outs than Lee. However, everyone seems to talk about Lee as if he's the lock for the AL Cy Young. What about Halladay? Is he not in the running at all?

If you ask me, Halladay is more talented than Lee.  But the Cy Young award is win biased, essentially it will go to the pitcher with the most wins at the end of a season, history proves it.  It will go to Lee and Webb, and to be honest they both deserve it this year with their records.  Halladay can look forward to future years, and if his team ever gives him run support he will get it with ease.

Halladay is one of my favorite pitchers :) Its always a blast seeing him pitch the way he does. I think he is extremely underrated though.. always seems to not get recognized.. anyways I think this year that Lee is going to get it because he has the Wins (which i think is sorta overrated when it comes to judging a pitcher) and complete games but that doesn't mean that the Doc is not great. He is a fantastic pitcher who is having another heck of a season ;)

As long as Lee keeps pitching well and racking up the W's he should win. Halladay has had a good season however Lee has been so consistently good and his numbers except for Complete Games and Shutouts are all better or comparable than Halladay's. He also racked up all those wins on one of the few teams that has a poorer offense than the Jays.

Lee is a lock and I think Lincecum should get it for the NL. 18-2 on CLE is good enough for the Cy in my opinion

Halladay has a chance and if he doesnt win then he'll finish 2nd. Halladay has had a great career and if he continues could be a HOF. Lee is having one good year and I think next year he will struggle under expectations that have been set on him because of his good 2008 year.

Halladay blows Lee out of the water. I wouldn't cast my vote for Cliff Lee. I am won of those guys that would vote for a pitcher on a playoff team. To me, the cy young would go to a guy that really put his team over the top

I think Lee needs to lose a bit more than twice the whole season.  You've also got K-Rod in Anaheim.
