Do you think we'd finally see how people were truly meant to treat each other. Tolerance would be the norm, and scientific advancement would occur at a much faster pace?

  1. What a ridiculous question!  It's got too many flaws in it to even bother starting to answer.

  2. 98% of scientists are atheists, my dear.

Without them, you will be living in middle age medical treatment system

How did ´´faith´´ heal the amputees?

    *ruffle feathers?*

You are an jelly brain, my dear

Now, go repent. This IS, what Jesus would do?

  3. won't be any better or any worse. Atheism has nothing to do with the world being good or bad.

  4. oh yes, think of the rapid advances in stem cell research, and we'll just ignore the jihads and crusades...

  5. My father is a pastor and I married a atheists. All of the Christains in my life have been very judgmental and hurtful towards others.

All of the atheists have been much more caring and rational.

Christians are only "kind" because they feel like if they are not kind they will go to h**l. A atheists is kind because he wants to be.

My husband told me if I was going to be afraid of any group to be afraid of Christians because they can go out and kill someone and then pray for forgiveness and in that person's eyes, everything will be fine.

You can't generalize. There are good and bad Christians and atheists. However, it takes all kinds in this world so just stop worrying about it. Be happy for who you are and let others be happy for who they are.

  6. It's religious people like you who give the rest of us a bad rep. What's the point of even stirring the pot? God made the world the way it is for a reason. He knew not everyone would love Him. Make the best of it, and show some respect.

  7. Your kidding right?

I know people of different religions. Their two faced! They treat people like c**p even after coming out of their religious services.

They think I need Jesus in my life because I don't "praise the lord" and

    I'm an atheist.

Just read your question...is that what your religion is about!

Just because we don't believe in a god or whatever you think makes you who you are, does not make us bad.

    Your weak minded! We're not!

  8. No! Until we, as a whole, treat each other as we'd have them treat us, regardless of our beliefs, we will not see how people are meant to live together.

  9. In truth, l would rather deal with the atheist then the wolves who are hiding within sheep clothing. at least atheist are real with their walk, unlike many of believers and believe me, I'm a true believer but I once lived not believing in God. I believe because of my experience and dealing with a lot of wolves in the last 11 years had me realize. this world to me would be better off without the falseness then those who do not believe. at least with atheist God can work to show them the truth. Hypocritical people are just fakes who think they are all that and a bag of chips and l do not like fake people and neither does God.

  10. Atheists wouldn't exist if those of theists had consistent and reliable teachings. It starts when these doctrines are found to be full of holes, lies, and perversions of the truth. The natural reaction is then to doubt even the existence of God.

As one comment said, we had a time when religion was dominated the scene and it was called the Dark Ages. Was there peace, progress in knowledge and science?

Were people treating each other properly then?

Look back at the Jewish system. They had a prefect Law, which Jesus said that the whole of it was based on Love of God as the greatest commandment, and the second was Love of neighbor. Yet the corruption of the principles of those 2 laws caused the Jews to split into sects and they were divided religiously.

Plus their "doctrines of men" that were placed above the Law, removed Love from their faith, made them haters of the gentiles and as Jesus said made them 'children of the Devil'. It was more important to keep their position of power than to wait for the true Messiah. This resulted in the murder of that Messiah.

It was during this discussion that Jesus made the statement "the truth will set you free".

There is truth and there is falsehood. Religion (whether Christian, Buddhism, Judaism, or the 1000s of others) is only good if it sticks wholly to the truth. Atheism is a reaction to the falsehood.

  11. Umm no it wouldent be.

i am atheist and i am a really nice person, probably too nice i am ant-homophobic anti-racism aswell...

you dont see atheists starting holy wars do you?

also most scientists are atheists so basically everything you said was flawed.

  12. No worries here. Right now we need each other. Hardship only build faith so endure all people, tolerate them for GOD sent HIS Son for us ALL.

For every eye shall see, and every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess Jesus Christ is LORD.

  13. Our world here is just fine thanks..not many Christians, so it is quite peaceful.

  14. Well, you have a strange definition of "better".

Tolerance would be a dirty word.  The Catholics, Protestants, Muslims and Jews would be at one another's throats as they are today -- only the Sikhs and Hindus would be joining in too.  There would also be various Pagan / Polytheistic factions arguing with one another and everybody else.

Scientific advancement would grind to a halt as scientists were forbidden to publish discoveries that might contradict established dogma.

The Industrial Revolution would be reversed within a generation or two, as religious factions refused to work with technology invented by their mortal enemies.  The reversal of the Agricultural Revolution would take somewhat longer -- perhaps a few lifetimes.

Finally, in the new Stone Age, peace would reign by the simple virtue of geographic isolation between tribes.

  15. Riiight, because religious people now are such a shining example of treating people well and eagerly embracing scientific advancement.

    Or maybe not.

  16. What are you talking about?  Atheists keep the rest of us honest!  I'm SO thankful for atheists.  If there were no atheists, I never would have met my husband, and I wouldn't have such a fantastic mother-in-law.  Most of my friends wouldn't exist.  And many of the people that I adore on here wouldn't be here.  How boring would that be?  Who would keep us honest, challenge our faith, and make us think?

Besides, most of the scientific progress of the last century has been made by atheists.  Without them, I wouldn't even be typing this.

    Thank you, atheists!

  17. Worse, not better.  We atheists are the only thing standing between you and other 12 year old fanatics.

  18. I think that life would be boring because we would all have the same ideas, Variety is the spice of life!!

  19. "The defenders of the truth are often worse than the enemies of the truth."

So said, The Mother, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry.

The world would be much better, if there were no such self appointed defenders of the 'Truth'!

  20. I'm a christian and i think the world would be great but then nobody would be a real christian you have to give people a choice others wise they will just do becuase they want to for example in the middle ages the church took over everything and forced everyone to be christians but they really weren't we probably have more christians now becuase we have the choice to beleive in what we chose

  21. It's ironic that you preach "tolerance would be the norm..." within a remarkably intolerant question.

I think the world would be better if there were no prejudice at all.

  22. That's a good question. How much better of would you be if 60% of scientists disappeared, tons of doctors, people from all walks of life? Bill Gates would be gone, Ian McKellen (Gandalf), and me of course. I think it would be a bad thing.

  23. We are all sinners, just because we have a belief in God doesn't make us better in the area of living good morally clean and sinless lives. We all are human, being human means we are constantly being tempted and tormented by sin. Some of us are more holy then others and inspire more rage and temptation in the evil one and others are evil and take less prodding to commit sin by the devils. The better you are in Gods eyes the more likely you are being continually tormented by devils tempting you to fall out of God's grace.

Atheist may not believe in God, but they can be good people. God believers may believe in God but that alone doesn't make them good people look at the B2K killer, wasn't he a preacher?

    I rest my case.

    Pray the Rosary daily!

  24. This is a funny question!!! If you were trully a *tolerant* person you would realize that everyone is entitled to their own personal beliefs. Do you think we landed on the moon because of religion? No, because people dared to think about things that religions will tell them not to.

  25. Obviously this is not a sincere question, but I'll bite anyway.

I am a Christian and I do not believe the world would be better without atheists. I think it's a common misconception among Christians that those who are not Christians are "bad people." What defines a Christian is not being a good person. What defines a Christian is one who believes that Jesus Christ is Lord. Now for the cliche' line: I have known much nicer atheists and much ruder Christians in my lifetime. I can honestly say I've never been wronged by an atheist, but I've been wronged by many Christians. (I've also known much more Christians, but for the sake of argument).

Anyway, I just wanted to show that all Christians don't think this way.

  26. God bless the fundies for they will inhibit the earth.

  27. Bible isn't about what's better of good/better, for some,

but about what's best, of good/better/best, and for all.

Pst: "all" is neither "many" nor "few".

Pst: "more excellent" neither "broad" nor "narrow" mindead.

Pst: only the "greatest" of "three things" is what "never fails".

Pst: have not the faith of our Lord JC with part-iality.

Pst: when perfect-ion comes, part-iality is done away.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

  28. Yes, because religions are all about tolerance for everyone else's beliefs and the evolution of human understanding through scientific research.

    Get real.

Who do you think was responsible for the Spanish Inquisition? Who imprisoned Galileo for  saying that the Earth moved around the Sun?

  29. Living on Earth would be like living in Heaven.

  30. Well, we would have more  or less no science. Certainly no modern medicine. No human rights (all thought through by atheists). No proper modern laws (all thought through by atheists and humanists).

We would instead have comepting, warring, vicious theocracies.

Thanks very much, but I'll take a world with the pernicious disease of religion eradicated.

  31. We would just have Muslims, Christians and Jews killing each other.
