  1. I think your lecturer is correct, I found 7600 litres per day.

  2. The volume of blood in human body is nearly 5 liters. The heart pumps about 280 liters in one hour, 7200 liters in 24 hours, or 2,688,000 liters per year!

  3. OK, lets cut through the rubbish here and get to a logical answer.

The heart pumps aprox. 250 mls.( a cupful) per beat.

let's say 72 beats per minute,

    250 x 72 (1minute) = 18 litres

    18 litres x 60 minutes (1 hour) = 1080 litres

1080 litres x 24 hours = 25,920 litres, which is surprisingly close to what your lecturer said

  4. Well, at rest, the average body pumps 5 litres of blood per minute, so simple calculation:

    5 x 60 x 24 = 7200litres in a day

However, the heart can pump anything up to 20 litres per minute in strenuous activity, which gives 28800 litres of blood.

So depending on what the question asking, it can be either.

  5. Depends on your size obviously.

If you are a big bulky chick then it's 22,750.

However if you are slim and toned then there will only be room for 7,000

  6. average 8 pints per person at any one time, ecluding any new blood that is formed i would imagine.

  7. well the book of biology i m reffering to.... says that yr lecturer is correct..7000 litres of blood is pumped daily.......

  8. Neither in reality - you don't have that much blood in your body do you?

The average body only contains approx 5 litres of blood - so the same blood is pumped around all day - so the answer is about 5 litres.
