I am throwing a party in a few months, and I'm wondering how big a cake would have to be to feed 150 people.

  1. Your best bet is to go to a bakery and ask them, even if you are planning on making the cakes yourself. I would ask in terms of sheet cakes and square measurements. It also really depends on whether you are feeding children or adults or a mixture of both.

  2. well u have to think like 25 percent dont eat the cake if their all eating it like 8 cakes big cakes but if you dont know then go with 8 also if theirs other desert then less people tend to eat other deser too

  3. i would get a full sheet cake because allot of people don't eat it ,i work in restaurant and it should be enough because i see most of times it works

  4. proally like 10 BIG cakes

  5. A cake with 150 pieces. Just kiddin.

If you go to the bakery, or even just call they can answer that for you. Call CostCo, they have yummy cakes for cheap

  6. A three tier cake should feed 150 people.

A 11 x 15 sheet cake provides 60 servings so if you are having a sheet cake, you will need 2 1/2 sheet cakes.

Slices will be 1.5 x 2 inches which is a standard party slice.

Some people prefer 2 x 2. If using the larger measurement you can get 42 slices  per cake, in which case I would recommend 3 sheet cakes.

Here's a guide for serving sizes:

Your best bet really is a 3 tiered-cake like a wedding cake, but decorated like a birthday cake.
