How much calprofen i should give my 32 months old son?

my son has 39 degree fever. i use calprofen but that dont seem to bring the fever down. it says on the box between the ages 0-2 2,5 mils. with the small part of spoon. and it says from the age of 3 give 5mils. with the bigger part of spoon. my son is 3 in 4 months should i just give him 5 mils or continue to give 2,5 mils as it says on the box?

take him back to the doctors. 4 months is too far away for you to consider giving him the higher dose without consulting a doctor.  also, there may be more powerful medications the doctor can prescribe if your son is still running a fever in spite of what he has been taking.

Give your son the 2.5 mls dosage one in the morning and one mid afternoon, then give him a 5ml dosage at night to help him sleep that way you are not giving him too much, make sure you give him plenty of fluids too this will also help keep the temp down.  If his temp doesnt go down take him to your gp.

It's always better to under dose than overdose.

I say don't give him anymore and if you're worried he's not getting better see the doctor.

NEVER EVER give more than the recommended dose, especially to such a small child.  Even a small overdose can be potentially fatal.  Check with your doctor again if the fever does not improve, but you could also try giving calpol in between calprofen doses for a short time.   It's paracetamol based rather than ibuprofen so it won't cause an overdose. Don't do this for too long though.

Please always give your child what is recommend on the instructions never give more than it says to do, strip your son down to his nappy/pants and give him plenty of fluids it does take a few doses to get the fever down, use a cool flannel on his head just wipe his face over with it often x

Give the dose prescribed at the prescribed intervals. If still worried see the Doctor.
