Just South off 3 bills. I have a Townie that I ride with my kids ages 7 and 9. I bought them both Electras. Love the ability to be able to put both feet on the ground while going 2 to 4 mph - ha ha ha ha !!!! The more bells and whistles you get ie: 21 speed, shocks etc... the more expensive they get. Heavy bikes also cumbersome to hang if traveling. Very comfortable ride combining old school with new engineering. Enjoy!

If you want to "stay with her" in more ways than one, get her a good one.  the good ones start at the Electra Townie 7D.  About $380.

got to have some gears to be useful.

I have been working on my wife's bikes for 25 years.  She lets me have bikes and tools and stuff no hassle, as long as I keep her riding on  a good bike.  (I have LOTS of bikes and tools).

but don't do this unless you are going to be serious about each other and biking-  or at least  one of the two;)
