if I get an auto accident settlement. Can Kaiser take 1/3 of the settlement even if the actual bill was less?

  1. I think you are confused as to what lawyers typically get in a law suit (1/3) and what hospitals get.  Hospitals just "get" what their bill is. First of all, They can't just "take" your money without your permission.  Further, I don't see how they can "ask" for more than the bill, unless you owed them something from a prior time ?


  2. Kaiser?  Are we supposed to know who or what that is?  Your attorney typically gets 1/3 if you do not have to go to court.  What actual bill are you referring to?  If Kaiser is the attorney (?) and you signed a contingency agreement, they get 1/3 even if they only spent one hour on your case.

  3. Who is Kaiser?  Is that the hospital?

    Hospitals only get the ACTUAL medical bill cost.
