i had judgment against me for a 8000 credit card account. They garnished my bank account. I just got back to working after be off, and they took all my money that i put in to the account. I have closed it, and am just keeping the cash. I need to build up the money , plus i need money to drive to work. I want to settle the payments, but if they can take alll my money that i deposit into any checking account, then i wont be able to continue working because i will not have any money to get to work. Can they take all the money i deposit into a bank account.

  1. Well now that you are working, they will seek a wage garnishment since you no longer have anything in the bank.  Unless you work under the table, they will find out where you are working and seek a wage garnishment next.

some states prohibit this such as North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas.

They can seize all funds in a bank account, BUT can only garnish a percentage of ones wages.  So don't use checking or savings accounts for a while.

    Hope this answers your question

  2. ah thats bull!

im goig throught this too, they want to takeme to court to get the money for a CC

oh god , ok close the account and make sure u take the money out of any account u put it in, or take some living money out before they can take it.

u need to live how the h**l are u meant to pay for every day life things if they take all ur cash thats just stupid

i would seek legal aid for this as im not sure what they are allowed to and not allowed to do but that cant be right, seek help on this one for sure

  3. With a judgment against you, the creditor may seize any bank account it finds.
