There are a couple private clinics that do plastic surgery, etc.  Maybe they woud have better wages.

  3. Hmmmm. Some spurious information here.

FM3.....5 years, or longer, just apply for another one. They don't force you to get an FM2. You can apply for citizenship after living here for 5 years though as I am about to do.

The general rule for working here as a foreigner is this.... You won't be granted a work visa unless you have a special talent that Mexicans don't have, such as teaching English. The Mexican government allows NATIVE speakers of English to live and teach here as our pronunciation skills are superior. Now, regarding nursing...........I don't know what the needs are to be honest. However, you may be able to find a niche teaching nursing skills (in English) in a bi-lingual nursing university, academy, etc. Your best bet is to take a course in TEFL/TESOL (teaching English as a foreign or second language) Here's a good school link below.

Now about your ACTUAL question. Nurses don't make very much here unfortunately. 100-150 per week is correct. I have a very good friiend who is a nurse, so I know. However, an English teacher CAN make about 500 per week. In any event, with your husband working as well, you can live here comfortably, albiet not a life of riches and fame. Most of the work in the country for English teachers is in and around Mexico City. The State of Mexico is the most populated (and industrialized) in the country. Approximately half of the population of the country lives in Mexico City.

    Good Luck......Rob

  4. Nurses in Mexico make about $100.00 a week.  If you can get a job in a hospital run by an American company for Americans, you would likely do better.  I have heard there are such hospitals, but, sorry, don't know of any specifically.  You would need an employer to sponsor your work visa.  Perhaps an international agensy that places nurses could help you.  but, if you work in a Mexican , hospital, your salary will be very low.
