I mean if they got paid at all, and were a newcomer to the scene, roughly how much could a poet expect?

PS, I'm not a poet myself, I'm just curious!

  1. Most literary journals pay only in copies.  That is, a published poet receives no money, just one or two copies of the magazine.

Some poets make a bit of money by selling their books or by being paid for public readings.  But most do not earn a living from their poetry.

  2. A poem has the same potential as a painting or piece of pottery. Some are worth millions. Some are worth fifty cents.

  3. Pens and paper                                            $ 1500.00

    Coffee                                                                 500.00

    Dr. visits / Medication                                     5000.00

1 poem that's worth something                       Priceless

  4. wel they would gain lots of self confidence.

it depends about the money how good the poem is and the company that the poem was sold to
