  1. the minimum wage is $12 per hour so you will get about $200 to your hand every week...

  2. I know the min wage is $12, but some jobs will pay more. I had a part time job from the age of 14, and was paid $14.00 an hour, with commision on top (I worked in a shoe store for approx 20 hours a week). Its about choosing the best job for you and going out to get it. Eg, go on www.seek.co.nz and email your cv. You'll find that if you are working in  a resteraunt you wont get tips. New Zealand doesnt have a tipping system in place, though some cafes do have a jar for tips (you cant rely on these for extra income-bear that in mind when taking a job in this particular industry). Good luck, I really hope you enjoy NZ!

  3. The minimum wage is $9.60 an hour before tax, The minimum wage applies to all workers aged 16 years or older, including home workers, casuals, temporary and part-time workers.

The minimum wage for employees aged 18 years and over rose to $12 an hour before tax on 1 April, 2008

    16 years - $9.60 x 20 hours per week = $9,984 p.a.

    18 years - $12 x 20 hours per week = $12,480 p.a.

Depending on the industry you may even earn tips, I am sorry and do not know how the tip system works with earnings.
