  1. Expect minimum wage, but like most businesses, they pay what the market will allow.  If there are many people available for the job, wages will be low.  If tutors are hard to find, wages will be higher.  Realize, too, math tutors may be paid more than tutors for other subjects.

  2. It really depends on the center that you are applying to.  The center I work at (and most centers) only offer minimum wage.  As you gain experience and the longer you stay, the better a chance you have for a raise.

It also depends on what job you are applying for.  At most centers, an assistant just grades homework and classwork.  This is the job that you will most likely be applying for.  If a center is trying to grow or is already big, then the center owner may be looking for a manager type person.  This position will offer more pay.  But do not expect to find many of these.

By the way, Kumon is not a tutoring service.  Students complete worksheets and therefore you will never be needed for tutoring.

Since you have a degree, I would not think that this is the job for you since working as an assistant for Kumon is for the most part a job for students.
