  1. Biological evolution of sizeable animals like mammals is a very slow process on the human time scale. Over the period of human history, its effects on humans have been imperceptible in the large, though certain particular traits can be observed to have changed.

  2. Humans have reached the end point in their natural evolution.  We began to alter human evolution when we became farmers and herdsmen.  When we started keeping people alive that should have died.  And when we started interbreeding.  Now that you know the human genome, we can alter our genes.  Therefore writing our own evolution.

To me that's terrifying.  It is very likely that humanity is it's own greatest threat.

  3. Infinitely, there's no endpoint to evolution.  As long as there are selection pressures in the environment there's evolution.

  4. humans probably can't get any smarter than they really are now. they may simply find more ways to manipulate people and stuff to get what they want. i think people can only evolve in technology, and intellectually, we are all like cave men.
