I don't know where the other answers got their figures as it is illegal for an employer to pay an adult less than the above.

Depends on what you're doing.  I think minimum wage might be something like AUD8 or 9 per hour.  Wikipedia has some 2007 info about the minimum wage in Australia.  

If you're going to the CES or other government employment agencies looking for work, the people there would definitely know what you should be being paid.
