  1. i think it depends on the type of car!

  2. if you just striped the outside not much maybe $50 tops but if you striped the threads well that's a different story you'll need to retread the hole and put in an over-sized plug that'll set you back at least $100

  3. If the plug itself is stripped it is cheap and easy to fix. Just use a bolt extractor on the plug or heat it up with a torch and it will come off easily. If the threads of the oil pan is stripped that is a different story and will require more work. You will need to rethread the threads. If you don't care it is no big deal as most quickie lube place suck out the oil using a long tube from your dipstick hole so they don't even touch your drain plug to change the oil. If you change your own oil they sell portable air pumps or electric pumps that drain your oil from the dipstick hole.

  4. Depends on whether the old old cooperates in coming out at all. At worst, you'll need a new oil pan.

    $250-$2000 depending on vehicle.

  5. If you take it in for an oil change at nearly any oil change they will deal with it for free as long as you are paying for an oil change, that is as long as they can get it out.
