How much can the G8 do for the world in real terms?

With so many people around the world, how much influnce do 8 countries leaders really have, I wonder?

they don't influence they have face .... that is all kinda like a celebrity ... people that "work" for the face are in control ...

I agree with alphamee-they talk about poverty in 5 star hotels eating 5 star meals c'mon!

They have a lot of influence. But choose to eat fancy meals at their annual club.

Well, they can waste the world's food, their money on trivial matters.

They can threaten to invade everyone for insulting the Fellowship of the Rich.

They can demand 3rd world countries to keep paying a debt that's already been paid: The 3rd World is just paying the interest on the interest on the interest.

They can save their country's worsening reputation by saying fancy words about helping the poor when they don't care.

By attending, they are demonstrating a commitment to Global issues and showcasing that it is paramount on International Agendas for international cooperation on Economics and Political issues.

Secondly they are raising awareness in all areas by their willingness to work together and equally generating publicity on an international scale.

They hold major discussions on diverse Issues and seek consensus wherever possible on mutually beneficial levels.

They get to make projections and planned equanimity's for International developments and other International issues, be it Social, Political or Economical scale.

They exchange information and ideas about future Trends and Projects.

It may seem slow and steady progress but they are committed to making changes and improving important concerns internationally, its not always a junket, chaps, lets give them some due.
