  1. I live in California  in my area it is $1.75 per pound for cans. I don't know about glass but i do know it isn't much

  2. You have to ask at the recycling center as it changes.

Turned in 200 pounds of paper got $0.98 cents.  Threw all the other paper out as 1/2 cent per pound was not worth my time.

    cans pay much more.

  3. you can earn as much as your willing to work at it there was just a thing on the TV were this guy collected enough materials that he is able to take a trip from British Columbia Can. to Alaska souly on the recycled and deposit materials he collected.we collect pop can {no deposit in Ontario Can}and we get on a average bag full of crushed cans 30.00 we also get .10c per beer bottle and .20c per wine or liquor bottle that can add up if your aggressive in going out and collecting

  4. "i'm Canadian but recycling is mostly a vounteer basis thing . if you worked for the actual company doing that you'd earn money . from alan tiger . "

  5. Well you'd be saving trees. I live in Washington, and I know a place that will give you 10cents per can.

  6. 5c a can so count up your cans and bingo

  7. Earning is not the major issue; costs of disposing of un-recycled products. New Jersey has mandatory recycling - you will be fined for putting recyclable material in the trash. They inspect every bag of trash.

When New Jersey started recycling they could sell cardboard for $35/ton. 15 years later they had to pay $20/ton got get a recycler to accept cardboard. This was still a bargain since it cast $55/ton to collect, burn and dispose of the ashes.

  8. It depends on how much time you want to put into it.  How serious you want to get.  You can average about $100 a day if you want to work at it.  It is a good underground income.  There are lots of people living off of recycling and still getting public assistance, free medical, free phones, free Internet, free heat assistance.  You just have to know how to work the system.
