Question:

How much can you bench press?

The most I've ever bench-pressed is 185. I was excited at the time because that was my weight, and I was excited to bench press what I weighed.

Now I'm lucky if I bench press 150. I've slacked off. :(

  3. To be honest, I max out at 135lbs. (I weight about 136lbs). Are you taking any supplements? You could take whey protein, Muscle milk, etc....any protein really to allow your muscles to breakdown and rebuild. I think those are gimmicks, but if you want to increase your benching...get back in the gym more. You said yourself you've "slacked off." Thats probably the answer.

  4. the most ive ever done was 225 but that was when i was 2 yrs ago. I do 185 right now and i weigh 182 lbs.

    If you want to bench press more then do incline with dumbbells, it helped me a lot.

  5. what your doing is not bad. Just keep working out and you will get stronger..

       My max is 340 lbs. I weigh 190lbs... so its good. I have been lifting for a while, and have had the weight get stuck on me at least 4 times in my life! not fun!!! especially since I workout at home most of the time

  6. Don't lift heavy without the spotter.  Anyone will do.  I get my wife if no one else is around.

    Last time I checked my max bench it was 165Kg

    And i weigh 88Kg

    So I'm gettin close to double my bodyweight.

  7. I usually bench about 250 - that's what I use in my reps...my MAX....i don't know.  And that's about 50 lbs or so more than I weigh.....so if you can bench your weight or more, then i should think that is good.

  8. I weigh 155 and I bench press 275. I am a collegiate wrestler so don't worry or get discouraged. Lot's of time spent into the gym. Ok to get it higher you want traditional dumbell presses. Thats a great strength builder then 1 time a weak use the actual weight bench do light weight to build up.

  9. Do your reps on the flat bench without the spotter; then go to the smith machine to use heavier weight. It acts as a spotter.  Also, Heavier dumbells work.

  10. Well my limit is 370. d**n, I'm pro.......
