  1. Assuming that you are talking about a professionally supervised test such as the Weschler-Bellevue, that means that your IQ is higher than roughly 95 percent of the population. On the internet you are going to find that most individuals responding to questions about IQ scores are going to tell you that a score of 120 to 130 is only on the high side of average and that he or she has an IQ of 150 to 200.

The reality is that standard IQ tests administered by psychologists / psychiatrists generally have a ceiling of around 132, which is estimated to be the score of the top two percent of the population. Scores beyond this range require special testing and are spurious. The only people who REALLY score at or above 130 on IQ tests are people who are very familiar with IQ tests.

IQ tests are not a very accurate measure of intelligence because any literate person who is familiar with them can score at the near genius level. Further, a brilliant person who is depressed or has dyslexia will score below average. In other words, don't waste your time. If you want to prove how bright you are, write a book. Don't focus on improving a nebulous score.

Most historical examples of genius, such as Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein, never took IQ tests at all. Even Stephen Hawking, a member of Mensa at one time, has stated that people who brag about their IQs are losers.

    IQ 140+ = pathological liar

    IQ 130+ = 98th percentile

    IQ 128 - 130 = 97th percentile

    IQ 124 to 127 = 95th percentile

    IQ 122 to 123 = 94th percentile

    IQ 118 to 121 = 90th percentile

    IQ 115 to 120 = 80th percentile

    IQ 110 to 114 = 75th percentile

    IQ 100 to 105 = 50th percentile

    IQ 80 to 90 = 25th percentile

    IQ 70 = 2nd percentile

    IQ below 70 = 1st percentile
