How much carbon emission goes into the atmosphere if I keep my hot water tank running all the time instead of?

  1. You can in fact put a timer on them that does that. Many newer models have energy saving electronics built in that will track your dailly use and then reduce the output when not needed.

    Consider however that if your using it most of the day  and late into the night it probably wont make any difference. infact your non use has to outway the cost of a water heater trying to heat water from a relativly cool state instead of just maintaining a hot state.

    I wouldnt confuse it with carbon foot prints just read your meter every month and see what you use in KWHR'S. You cant trust the bill any more those are averaged in alot of places. If you use less and less then your doing good.
