How much cash can you get for plastic coke bottle recycling? What about cans and paper?

I'm looking to have my kids and family start trying to think about the land fills and how we can make a difference. If my wife could bring in some extra cash while also trying to teach the community, I thought that would be a good idea.

Pending on what state you live in .10 or .5 cents per bottle. On average about 150 a ton (2200lbs)

go to www.earth911.org they will help you locate your local recycle center. There should be a web link or phone number to call and get rates. The rates and items accepted may vary by location.

The recycling center in CA I go to pays

1. $1.57 per lb aluminum cans

2. $0.92 per lb plastic bottles

3. $0.11 per lb glass

U can recycle paper but I dont think you get paid for it.

My family of 6 has been recycling since my kids were young. This has been a great learning experience and we get to earn money too. On Friday, we cashed in our 1st batch of Summer recyling and we got $49.21.
