Question:

How much clearance do my outdoor air conditioning units need?

want to block noise from ac units about fifteen yards away from the pool. how close can i put fence, hedges etc to units? what sort of fence can i use, i am thinking 4' max.

  1. As a sister of a local contractor here in central florida. Frank says you need to have 6" clearwance but more the better from all walls of the structure. Hedges are not really an issue as air passes through he claims. I would use lattuice work or simply do as he does for csome clients which is put up a small 4' tall fence around the air conditioner.   2. 6" is usually the minimum clearance.

    Maybe a fence then hedges to keep the minimum clearance.

  3. 3 feet is sufficient.

    Use some lattice with some ivys to grow on it.

    that'll look cool and still allow enough air.
