How much coffee is healthy to drink daily?

i drink 2 cups a day and i'm wondering if its healthy or not.if it isn't how much should i be drinking?

  2. 2 cups of Coffee is fine. Just Don't exceed 4 then you'll be sooooo Jittery and Uncomfortable.

  5. Try witching to green or black tea.  Seriously, I saw a nutritionist who said "the only health advantage to caffeine is in an e***a."  When in doubt cut-it-out!

  9. coffee isn't bad for you it is the caffeine that is. It can be very addicting and i know some people who can't even start their day without it.

  13. I drink anywere between two to six cups. People say it is bad, but I never feel any effects from it. Maybe I'm so used to it I don't notice?

  14. a study shows that 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups in the evening. with no additives such as sugar and milk helps regulate blood glucose so it is good for you one thing to also keep in mind is the caffeine and you should drink water during the day so you don't become dehydrated.

    But, overall, American drink too much caffeine.  It's not just in your coffee, but tea, chocolate, soft drinks, and some other products, even "energy boosters."

    Recent studies for women, involving large numbers of nurses, has shown that women who drink coffee are more healthy than those who do not.  Seems like coffee effects men and women differently.

    When in doubt, ask your doctor, because every person is different, may depend on your other ailments.  If you have an ulcer, for example, don't use coffee.  And, coffee should not be taken with some prescription meds.

According to all the studies I just read about on line, there is very little evidence to suggest reasonable coffee usage is "bad" for you.  Heavy usage is considered 12 to 15 cups of coffee in a day.  Associations with cancer have been disproven according to the sources I found (at least three sources said this).  The American Surgeon General says there seems to be no link between blood pressure issues (though blood pressure does rise temporarily after drinking a cup) over the long run for habitual coffee drinks "in moderation."  Health Canada did a thorough study and found:

    "A comprehensive review of the effects of caffeine on human health, conducted by Health Canada and published in 2003, determined that for healthy adults moderate daily caffeine intake is not associated with adverse effects, including cardiovascular problems such as hypertension."

    The mental effects are more significant than the physical from what I can find.  Although you may find yourself reliant on coffee to feel normal, productive and non-irritable, it has not major health detriments that I have been able to find proven online.  Though I would disagree, the International Food Information Council Foundation says that caffeine is actually *not* addictive.     According to that article, "moderate" usage is under 300 mg of coffee in one day - and that amount is safe.  Coffee has 45 to 140 mg of caffeine on average - depending on cup size, beans, etc.  Espresso actually has significantly less caffeine - approximately 15 mg of caffeine in a shot.

    Furthermore, Coke has 34 to 45 mg of caffeine. Red Bull has 80, and Jolt has 71.  Tea can easily have upward of 40 mg.  Most people answering that caffeine is definitely bad for you here probably drink the occasional one to three cokes (or tea or other soda) at a party or home with a meal and don't give the caffeine a second thought.  

    I would encourage people to research their answers more significantly before they tell you that you are wrong to do something.

  23. Living in the 21rst century, nothing is good for you anymore. ( lol ) but the thing is, my dad's ex girlfriend drinks atleast 5 a day ( no joke ) Shes still living. But thats not good for you. The best answer i can give you is no coffee at all. But 2 is probably the maximum someone should have. If your concerned about your health, i would cut down to 1 cup a day.
