  1. After high school you go to 4 yrs in college then 4 yrs medical school then 2-4 years in residency then you become a doctor. You might need to get a masters or doctorate. the mcats are pretty hard. I haven't took them but my uncle did.

  2. 4 years of college

    4 years of med school

This is followed by your residency.  Many residencies are 3 or 4 years but some are longer.  Surgical residencies run 5 to 7 years.

After the residency, a doctor may choose to get even more training.  For example, after a 3-year internal medicine residency, a doctor may elect to take an additional 3 or more years of a fellowship to become an oncologist.

A surgeon, after his residency, may want to specialize in something like neurosurgery, which requires a fellowship of several years.

At a minimum, you can expect to spend 11 years in college, med school, and residency before you can begin to practice medicine.  If you want to specialize, you should plan on 12 to 18 years, depending on the specialty.

  3. 8 years

i think you intern 2 of those 8

  4. It actually takes 12-14 years to be a doctor. Four for your bachelor's degree, four years in medical school and four-six years of residency (internship) depending on your specialty.
