I'm getting .62 yards, but it doesn't seem right. Can someone check my math?

  1. you are correct.  the actual answer is .6173 and since you always round up, not down, .62 is the right amount

  2. 1.6 cubic yards  (5 x 10 x .3) divided by 9 = 1.6

Oops - eye maid a mistook. Divide bye 27 - knot 9. Soree!

  3. I get ~ 16 cubic feet which is ~ 0.6 cubic yards (16/27), plus some for waste.  Problem is it's not likely you'll get a company to deliver less than 1 yard, so unless your gonna mix it yourself, be prepared for the extra

  4. A yard of concrete 4'' thick covers 81 square feet

  5. divided  by 28 equals .74 yards

  6. Your 0.62 cubic yards is right on the money. Ask your supplier if they have one of the smaller 3 cubic yardtrucks that are making their way into the industry. In our area, Northeast PA. several suppliers have these smallers trucks. If they don't, you will probably have to pay for at least half a truck full, 5 cubic yards.

  7. 80 sq ft to the yard @ 4" so your close.

What bothers me is suppliers yield on a yard of mud.If it was me and my job I would have figured 1 1/4 yards and let the truck take back the rest.Your probably already paying a high premium and a short load charge so that extra $50 is cheap insurance you have enough.

    My Best

  8. 1 cubic yard of concrete will cover 80 square feet 4 inches deep. They will probably not deliver less than 2 cubic yards. and will have a heafty fee for that. Yes .62 sounds very close.
