Question:

How much coverage will media outlets provide for the Ron Paul convention?

Ron Paul has no speaking role at the GOP convention. He said his staff made overtures to the party, but nothing came of its efforts.

Supporters plan to bunk in group cabins at Camp Ihduhapi on Lake Independence, park RVs or pitch tents at campgrounds or head to a Goodhue, Minn., dairy farm for Ronstock '08, an imitation of the 1960s Woodstock counterculture festival.

Will any of you be going?

  1. I hope all attendees have their shots up to date.

  2. Based on the tone they've always taken - including the article cited - I can't see why those with any respect for the Constitution, any determination to think logically and independent of emotional media-pecking or why anyone with enough sense to pour pits out of a bucket would even let the media in.

There's an idea: Ron Paul and Supporters BLOCK THE MEDIA!!!

    ...

  3. About as much attention as they give Nader or other small party candidates. If you don't have a ton of money to throw around, you get ignored. And where does all that money come from? The major party candidates are bought and paid for. Don't trust any of them.

  4. Don't know, but at least RP supporters will have a forum for their activities, not like these poor slobs:

CSpan was talking about covering it, but I don't know where that stands.  Many are going to cover it as a side item, but not in detail.  I predict more marginalization by finding a few loonies and making them the stars.  What else is new?

  5. None. Ron paul is irrelevant. There are more important things happening.

  6. That sounds awesome. I wish I could go.

Our media is sad. They only cover the stories that bring in the most cash. Nothing more, nothing less.

  7. Probably, not much. Though, people like Tucker Carlson will give some coverage, and I heard, if correct, he will show up in a small glitch on the RNC Channel. But, over 9,000 tickets?? It just shows Ron Paul did attract a strong group of people. I heard it was going to be fun with all the artists they invited and their philosophical stances on government. Hopefully, it gets some coverage, I wanted Ron Paul to be the nominee though. Thanks for this question.

  8. BaRack isnt an option, and im not a big fan of palin either, would be great if there really was a 3rd option with a "real" chance.

  9. It is a shame that Ron Paul is being ignored. Not because he is a serious candidate, any more than Ralph Nader was, but because he might serve his country by drawing votes away from McCain/Palin. Nader has blood on his hands for helping Bush win, but Paul could be a national hero.
