How much debt are you in?

i have been paying off consolidation loans and cc's for about ten years now. i got down to 2k but had to top my loan up for a new car which took it up to 6k. i then borrowed 5.5k for a deposit on a house off my mum and cant pay that back so have had to top my loan up further to 8.5k (they wouldnt give me anything more) and i clocked up 2.5k on my cc for house improvements. total debt? 12.5K

i was trying for a family but bf has said no. i was in the middle of intensive tests for infertility and he has said this to me which is heartbreaking.

has anyone else got such debts like me and have a family?

how do you cope?

I have no debt. Recently paid off my mortgage. It sounds as though you were doing an excellent job of paying down your debt and then all h**l broke loose buying a new car and a home and furnishings for it. Not starting a family may have been a blessing in disguise. Not sure you could afford that. None of this is any of my business, but I'm trying to figure out the relationship (personal & financial) between you and your boyfriend. You say you were in discussions with him about starting a family. You obviously have a deep personal relationship. Is he living with you? If so, is he helping towards household expenses? If that's where you are I don't understand why you had to take on so much debt. If it's not the case, your "boyfriend" is s******g you over on two accounts, not allowing you to start a family and not helping out financially. Again, none of this is any of our business, but I can't figure out why you are where you are. Good luck.
