  6. None.  The mass displaced is the same used in the mass of its make up.  The sponges were not introduced, so there was no net displacement.

  7. If anything, the depth of the ocean would decrease because like any mass, sponges displace water.

    The sponges you see in the ocean are not the kind of sponges that absorb water in your kitchen.

  8. Actually, the sponge represents a displacement of water.  Sponges DO have mass, and where their mass is, the waters mass is not.  Like dropping a billiard ball into a full glass of water

    SO,  if we took ALL the sponges out of the ocean (draining the sponges dry in the process), the oceans would acutually shrink by a tiny bit.
