  1. How much did it cost ... back in the 70's ... under $3. Now, I am not sure. Of course the game board for both of these games has been around for a much longer time and was 27 cents around 1940 according to my mother. I believe that you can find checker game with backgammon on the back of the checker board at toys'r'us.

    Good Luck with that.

  2. There are games available in yahoo messenger and most likely, they're available in your computer, but must be online in order to be played. Checker and backgammon online are no problem but I'm also finding chess as well :)

  3. i dont know

  4. Just go to Target or Walmart and they have all kinds of board games. They've gotta be under $20.

Plus, if you're not fussy about the board condition, you could buy one for $5 at a garage sale.

  5. checkers and backgammon can be played with chalk and pebbles on the sidewalk ( you might have trouble finding six sided pebbles for the backgammon) so I wouldn't pay more than $5 for them unless I was looking for something fancy.

  6. It depends on what kind of quality you are looking for. I've seen both sets at Dollar Tree, but I doubt they are very good quality.  You could probably get decent sets at Target for $10.00
