  1. All of my doctor's visits have been free.  I have to pay $50.00 for my hospital stay, and that is it.  I obviously have insurance lol

  2. my daughter was a preemie, so without insurance it would have cost about $85,000

insurance covered all but around $4,000

(that is including our hospital stays, the ambulance ride, the dr visits...

With the one I am expecting now, It will total about $2500 (not including what insurance pays for)

  3. I live in Ireland, and had a hospital birth, so I paid nothing.

All health care from check ups to delivery - everything, is completely free, you do not need any insurance.

Ireland's health system is lame (to say the least) - but that - that is one thing they are doing right.

  4. My dr. visits were free. My hospital stay was $25,000 before insurance but I only payed $1,000 co-pay.

  5. My doctor costs were $2500 with my c-section for my second baby. I had insurance and didn't have to pay anything for that or the hospital. I never even got a bill so I don't know how much the hospital charges were. With my first the doctor cost about the same with that c-section. I didn't have to pay anything for the doctor and only had to pay $19 for the hospital.

  6. Insurance covered everything for us, medically.  I'm not sure how much doctors visits would have been without insurance, but I saw a copy of the hospital bill...  With my second, I was admitted around 5 in the morning.  Had baby at 748am with no meds, only an IV drip.  Baby spent a few hours in the NICU because of issues regulating his body temp (he was a bigger baby at 10 1/2 lbs and needed to be under a bigger "heat lamp").  After that, everything was smooth sailing.  I only took a few doses of Motrin and one dose of Percocet (the nurse talked me into it... although I don't know why- I had already done the hard part without any meds.  Anyway, didn't like the Percs anyway- just made me super tired).  We left the next morning around 10am.  We were in the hospital for 29 hours, had minimal medications and complications, and our bill would have been $10,000+.  I can't imagine how much it would have been had we needed any medication or medical interventions.

  7. I have only had to pay a $20 co pay.  Insurance covers everything else.

  8. Hooray for Canada! No charge for anything - regular doctor visits, ultrasounds, other tests, seeing a specialist because of high risk pregnancy, accupressure, being induced, c-section, meds, hospital stay (we did have insurance to upgrade me to a single room rather than being in a double, but that was like $30/year and covered other stuff). Yes, we pay high taxes, but wow is it ever worth it.

  9. it's great to be Canadian.  We don't pay for any of it.  The care is top notch too:)

  10. Im in Ireland so all of my visits and stays were free.  I dont have insurance.  Visits to my GP are free too

  11. The entire thing, before insurance, from start to finish, was about $25,000.  That included L&D, a 2-night hospital stay, epidural, 4 trips to the ER during the pregnancy, and doctor's visits.

My out of pocket was $0.
