My local dealer has the MSRP listed at $16,705 and the salesman is only willing to come $200 off of that price?

  1. No ways. The Invoice price on that car is about $14,700. Don't pay $2,000 more for it. What you should do is go in and say look the invoice is $14,700. (5-SPEED) (They aren't gonna give it to your for invoice price since its not hard to sell)

i have some car buying tips that help me get the best price..

    1)  You know the invoice price, and start by offering maybe $15,200.

    2)  If they say no go up a little maybe to $15,600 at most.

    3) If they still say no, say something like "Well thank you for your service, but i think i'm gonna go look at another Honda dealer" For me this has worked almost every time (id say 9/10)

    4) The guy/girl will probably be like..." WAIT, let me talk to my supervisor."  He/she will come back and (most likely) will give it to you for $15,600 or under.

This has almost always worked for me, the dealers hate it when you go shop somewhere else because if your unsatisfied at their dealer, it will be much easier for the next dealer to sell you a car, and your much more likely to buy it from that other dealer. One customer may not seem like a lot, but assuming you go back their for servicing and your next car and you give them a good rep, your a very valuable customer.

Try it and see if it works, if it doesn't work just go all the local Honda dealers and leave them your number and the price you wanna pay at most (based on the invoice price and what you were offered) and i'm pretty sure somebody will follow up with you really soon.

if your looking at the auto sport, then the invoice is about $15,300 i think, so you can adjust it too how much you wanna offer. You can always go to the Honda dealer and ask for the invoice price, i believe by law they are required to tell you it.
