  1. Comparing Capella University and University of Phoenix...

I live in California and am currently attending Capella University, an online college located in Minneapolis, MN and I am paying $1,860.00 per class.  There's always Financial Aid/Loan/Scholarship, etc.) to pay for your classes and they require you to pay before the class starts or at least have financial aid secured.  Each class has 6 units/credits which means that each class is equivalent of 2 classes.  So if you take 2 classes per quarter - that's Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall, you'd be considered full-time (student).  Find out from University of Phoenix what system they go by:  semester (just like high school:  6 months) or quarter (every 3 months).

I too hated laptops and thought my desktop would do just fine but since Capella goes by Quarter, there's just a lot of school work and reading done right off of your computer and sometimes, you will wish you had a laptop so you can move around and take it to the beach with you.

Before I enrolled with Capella, they gave me a link where it tested my computer's capability - to see if I had the systems requirement to run with their system...I think University of Phoenix should have that - being an online college, that is the least of the basics an online university should have.  By the way, I heard that University of Phoenix uses plain old Outlook to correspond with classmates and professors, submit homeworks/projects, and so forth while Capella uses their own system, a state-of-the-art and advanced technology without relying on the obsoletes.  You might want to do some comparisons and research your options before committing into one online college because in the end, it's all about the cost $$$ which until now, I still don't know University of Phoenix' tuition cost...again, Capella was upfront with how much a class would cost me while the others didn't have a definite answer.

Whatever path you choose, good luck with your studies and have fun! :)
