  1. I'd look at around £500 - £1000 to get something really decent.

  2. Not more than £1000, chances are u wont keep it very long neway as its ur first car lol x

  3. £200 but I must have spent the same again fixing it (and that's just the parts as I did the work myself) Ended up scraping it as there was too much rust.

If you spend about £500 and know what your way around a car, or take someone along with you who does, you should be able to find something that will last a couple of years without costing too much extra.

  4. sorry, i'm not rich, but my first car was a 75 cordoba. I paid $30 for it,& it was great as a first car.don't look on the internet! theese deals are local finds only! look in farmers fields, peoples yards,etc..your first car shouldn't be very expensive, you will make mistakes being a new driver.  don't spend too much on a car you're going to wreck! theese days I'd look for an 83 honda, about 40 mpg,& easy to fix! I bought 1 from a lot for $150!

  5. between £500 and £1000. you are more likely to have bumps and scrapes soon after passing test, so your first car should be something small and something that didnt cost a fortune so scrapes and bumps dont really matter.

  6. For my first car, I broke the bank and paid a handsome some of $300 for a worn out 1986 Nissan Micra back in '96.

The body was in fine shape but the engine was toasty.  Actually, it would have been a fine car if I had been able to score a decent engine.  XD

  7. $6,800 - 1991 Honda Civic a long time ago.

  8. $400

  9. $150,000...I bought a Porsche Gemballa Turbo

  10. mine was free. mind you, it was a morris minor !

Couple of grand i would think. As its your first car i think you want it to be reliable as you wont be inclined to do any work on it.

Lookf or a 5 year old car - pugeot, nissan, toyota or even, dare i say it, a ford focus.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though, 2 days ago i received my 3rd DB9 ;-)

and yes, they have improved the gearbox like they promised.

my path has been MM, Chevette HS, Lancia, F308, F328, merc 230, saab, saab and more saab. mitsu, xkr, db9

  11. I had to save up my own money for my first car so I bought a 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix with about 130,000 miles for $400. I would recommend spending at least $1,500 if possible but not more than $5,000. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to get little dents on the car, especially if you shop Walmart (their parking lots are notorious for damaging vehicles), and you wouldn't want all that worry with an expensive car.

  12. Depends on how much you can afford. Is it a brand new car or used? For me I got a bad deal on a  new car loan, so as a suggestion research and compare prices if you are getting a loan and better check your credit score before you go to a dealership.

  13. I bought my pre-owned Jeep Grand Cherokee for $13000.  The repair cost added up to $8000.  Lovely...?

  14. My first car cost £900 it was a renault clio which i kept for a year,

then my 2nd car cost £1,800 VW, and my insurance stayed the same as i had 1 years no claim,

    x

  15. 50 bucks but that was 45 years ago drove it four years

  16. I personally didn't want to go over £1000 as insurance is expensive enough anyway when your a first time driver. And you can expect a couple of bumps here and there! Although had mine a year now and so far so good - not a scratch! lol

    Love my KA!!

  17. £400

But I made a mistake in buying a complete shed.

As much as you can afford including insurance and have someone look over it as well.

  18. £150 for a 1988 Citroen 2CV & £450,to make it roadworthy.good fun & i'd buy another,but without rust! i really want a Toyota MX5,when i return to work.lollol

  19. £900
