How much difference between memory foam and tempur?

Question

Thinking of getting a memory foam mattress or tempur, is there anyone that offers free trials.

Anyone got either.....good or bad?

Tempur mattresses are made from memory foam, but the big difference is THE COST.

I used to have a 4" memory foam topper, and thought I was upgrading by buying a Tempur mattress. (I cut the topper up for the dog's bed) I later found out that my £700-00 Tempur mattress has only 4" of memory foam, and feels absolutely no different from my £150 topper. Don't get sucked in by a fancy name, there are much cheaper, but equally as good memory foam mattresses, and toppers on the market.

Tempurpedic has a 90 day comfort guarantee.  You purchase the mattress set and they will take it back within 90 days if you don't like it.  Other manufacturers do not give a comfort guarantee although the mattress store may.  They also  are a bit softer and don't relieve the pressure as well as Tempurpedic.  Tempurpedic controls their prices while other mattress sets may be negotiable.

Go for the Sleep Number bed with the memory foam topper.  You get the best of both worlds!

there are quite a few memory foam mattress brands available in the market - TEMPUR is one of them... and the most expensive! A better idea would be to go for less expensive but UK made memory foam mattresses, like the ones sold on http://www.internetmemorymattress.co.uk

i have a memory foam matress its great well worth the money. I think that tempur is just a brand name for memory foam.

tempur pedic has a 30 or 60 day trial (i'm not sure) where they bring in the mattress for you for that amount of time and you can either keep it and pay for it, or send it back.

Tempurpedic is the first company to introduce memory foam mattress and it is more expensive than other mattress brands.

There are other mattress companies producing memory foam mattress at a cheaper price. Yes, there are some companies that offer 7-30 days money back guarantee, you have to check with your mattress store or email them to ask if they do have this policy.

oooh i have a memory foam mattress.. i love it.. best thing ever!!!! when i bought mine about 2years ago, we where going to go for the tempur, but we got told if we were 'hot' sleepers not too ...apparantly they get really warm to sleep on and so get uncomfortable (!!!) ...i dunno how true this is, but we bought the cheaper version.. and have been made up with it ever since... i would never buy a 'normal' mattress again now! ..enjoy..xx
