How much difference is there in highway fuel economy between 250cc motorcycles and 400-750cc models?

Also, would the 250cc bikes be a lot more susceptible to cross-winds and other conditions, or would they be roughly the same?

Thanks!

  1. motorcycles were not built for gas mileage, they were built for fun

  2. fuel economy depends on the rider. if you put a 250 pound person on a 250cc bike it will be bad. rule of thumb is 2cc per pound. yes wind sheer is a problem if the bike is too big for you.

  3. I have an 07 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and get usually 45-47 on the highway.

  4. The UM bikes must get better mileage

    My 650 gets 56-59 mpg

the 250 guys on our forum say 70-75 mpg
