I am a teen BabySitter. I have just taken Training provided by the Red Cross and I am ready to start. But there is one problem, I don't know how much to charge the parents of the kids I am baby sitting! If you are or used to be a Sitter, can you tell me the hourly rate that you use/used, or if you are a parent and have/had a baby sitter, can you please tell me the rate they charged you?

Thank you!

  1. Heyy well i also babysit really it depends on how many kids are there i mostly babysit two kids and i get 30-40 dollars and when i babysit one kid then i get around 25-30 dollars and also it really depends one how long you babysit to so mostly its over $25

    hope i helped =)

  2. When I was first starting I just Went with what the parents could afford or were comfortable with. Most newer parents don't always have the money we expect but are in need of care for their childeren.... sometimes they may not have cash but can offer you say 20 bucks and a free pizza for the night or discounts where they work. Others will pay hourly say $5 an hour while the rest will basically give you tips on how well you did. like a random amount depending on how well they think you did the first time with their child and give you more as you are with their child longer to a comfortable rate as you progress...

    Hope This helped!

  3. its up to u what you charge i chage 5 buck an hour for kid

  4. if you take care of the kids 6-8 hours a day for 7 days a week i would charge $75 a week but if u do it on a hourly basis i would say $5 or more depending on age of child

  5. when i started out, i charged $5 an hour with a 3-hour minimun (so you don't leave with nothing), andthen I went up to $7 as I got older. But that is a base, you might want to consider if there are infants, multiple children and all that. i have a friend who is a nanny and went from $7 to $9 from the parents because she has a newborn now. so whatever you feel comfortable with and the parents can afford! good luck!!!!

  6. it actually really depends on how old the child is. if the child is younger, you'll probably get payed more. about $5-$7 an hour. it also depends on how nice to parent is.

if the child is older, you probably wont get payed that much.

  7. Depends on how many kids you have at a time, and whether they are school age or a baby.  ( i always charged more for babies)  It also depends on whether you go to their house and they furnish food etc. or they bring the kids to your house.  Example:  6 month old baby and they bring bottles and diapers,, I would charge like $100 per week. And that is not 7 days a week either. It is for a 5 day week!
