In a fairly large town. Population is 81,913 and its in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Night shift usually has shift differentials too right? How much do they make. also how much do un-certified CNA's make?

Would the hospital hire me if I used to be a CNA but let mylicensee expire, I would have to re take the classes but would that help get me in the door?

  1.   On a national average c.n.a' s make about 11.00 hr but it really depends on what setting you work in as well. A c.n.a working in a doctors office or hospital with a few years exp. can make upwards of 18.00 an hour, and c.n..a.'s working for a state medical staffing agency can make as much as an r.n. but its not a reliable source of hours though.

As far as getting you in the door; a prior c.n.a can help, but you will most likely be put in a non paid training program before they'll actually let you on the floor to do anything involving direct patient care (plus side is the training is free to you as long as you finish and go to work for them.)

Iam a night shift c.n.a. in Oregon and they pay a shift differential in some facility's but not that much usually like an extra 1 to 2.00 and hr.

Hospitals however have been noted to pay 4.00 an hour extra for nights. Also in some hospitals they pay what is called a call in fee; which means if they call you in on your day off or ask you to work extra on a day you're already scheduled to work they'll pay you an extra 2.00 an hour or so for every time they ask you until you accept the shift. That can add up really fast!

Uncertified aides are aides that have taken the class and have yet to get their state exam results back yet. So if thats what you meant by uncertified, They typically make anywhere from 1.00 to 2.00 less then a freshly certified aide.

Hope this helps you out! Good luck I hope you

                    get your c.n.a back
