  1. i would say 500$ a week around the clock .... but for just a couple hours a day hmmmmm its hard to say i mean i think a minimum 20$ a day no matter how short the visit .... after that about 5$ an hour.... so for 10 hours thats 20$ + 5$ each hour she worked.... 50$  = $70.00 for 10 hours work :)

  2. well it matters how long you are on vacation. if it is short for instance, a week, then something close to 30 through 50 dollars. if it is long, like to 10 days to 20, then i would have to say close to 50 through 100 dollars. i dont know much about babysitting but i have baysitted for at least a month. (make sure you dont make the babysitter think its a rippoff

  3. When I was 18, I did a simmilar thing, except I baby-sat 3 kids, 4 months, 5 yrs. and 10 yrs. I got payed $325 for the whole week.

But for you I'd say from $250-$300.

    Good luck and have fun!

  4. If you are taking care of all meals and private accommodations (as in her own room away from the kids), then I think one hundred and fifty dollars should do it.  She is getting a free trip to the beach, plus some spending money.

However, if by "a few hours per day," you mean more than four hours per day, then I would up the amount accordingly.

If she is rooming with the kids, I would say at least three hundred dollars because. whether or not they are asleep, she is losing her privacy and subject to their company twenty four hours per day.

If she is paying for her own food, I would add about one hundred dollars.

  5. 18 yr old mother's helper/babysitter

is the mother 18 yr old or the helper is?

  6. I would say at least $ 15 dollars an hour that you leave the kids with her. I know that's a little steep but she is coming with you for the whole week.....and it's hard to find sitters that can do that. If your going to go out at night after the kids go to bed then I would cut it back a little but if you left them with her 2 hours a day that's $150 a week ...3 hours $225......anything more and I would set a flat rate .

  7. I'm going on vacation with the family I sit for. They have a 1 & 3 year old and it sounds like the same situation. We'll be gone for a week, I'm staying with them at no expense to me, and I'll only be alone with the kids a few hours a day, plus out with the whole family.

They offered me $350 for the whole week, but I felt that was too much considering they'd be paying for all my food and activities so now they're paying me $300.

(I also have to change diapers on the youngest, so keep that in mind)

    Anywhere from $250 - $350 is reasonable!

  8. For an 18 year old and one full week.. I'd say at least $500 for one full week- 24 hours a day and for two children.

Consider the amount of money daycare would cost for 8 hours-- typically $40 a day per child.

  9. Whatever she deserves.

  10. I would make adjustments (as you see fit) to the follow information. Which is from the International Nanny Assoc:

IF NANNY IS TRAVELING WITH THE FAMILY, WHAT DOES SHE/HE EARN:

32% said they have expenses paid but receive no additional compensation (Live-in nanny?)

8% said they receive spending money (see above comment.)

8% said they receive an additional $50 per day plus expenses

7% said they receive an additional $100 per day plus expenses

6% said they receive an additional $75 per day plus expenses

4% said they receive an additional $150 per day plus expenses

3% said they receive an additional $200 per day plus expenses

62% answered in detail regarding additional compensation for traveling with their employer family.  Many live out nannies do not travel with their employers and many live-in nannies do travel but it is on their normal working days and may not receive additional compensation.

    Enjoy your vacation!
