My six week old daughter is going to the sitter starting Monday. Her sitter is actually my aunt who takes care of one other little girl. She wants me to set what she is payed. I have no clue what to pay her. Im just happy I don't have to take my daughter to a daycare or a sitter who takes care of tons of kids. What is a fair rate for a new born.

  1. How often is she going to be watching her?

How many hours a day, hours weekly?

Are you paying her daily, weekly, bi-weekly?

What is you average paycheck, and play money left over?

  2. $140 a week...Newborn's aren't easy!

  3. Fair would be at least minimum wage, but since she is family and taking care of another child about $100 per week would be nice.

  4. 10$ an hour. thats what I would pay. im a young mom(22) who babysat through my teenage years and thats what I charged. rates couldn't have changed that much since i was babysitting.

  5. I pay my sister £230 a week. which works out to be £8 an hour. She has my son for 7 hours 4 times a week.

  6. For an infant, at my son's daycare center, you pay $125 a week. We supply diapers and formula or breast milk and let them know what schedule to use to feed the baby. Since she will be caring for her almost constantly, I'd meet or come pretty close to that amount.

  7. i am a full time student and a full time nanny, and watch two kids.. 2 and 4 yr. old.  25 hours a week.  and gets 350 a week.  i wouldnt take any less. babysitting isnt as easy as people think.  kids are a handful!

  8. I'd say about $120/week since she is a newborn
