  1. I get $10/hour when they make me teach. The minimum at our mountain is $8/hour (I think.) I'm in the Poconos at a small resort. Pay might be a bit higher at a bigger Vermont or Colorado resort, but probably not by much.

You can also throw tips into the equation too. That varies greatly. Sometimes I'll get a $10 tip for 1 hour and sometimes I get $20. It depends.

  2. $8/Hr is the munimum wage in my state. That is the starting rate for everyone. As you gain experience and certifications you can sometimes make more. It also depends on the school and the type of lesson.

  3. My roomate was a ski instructor and she made 10 an hour at my mountain (Keystone, CO).  I think they get like a whole 50 cent raise for getting level one cert and that only takes all season because you have to do it on your days off...so that's a pain in the ***.  But she said the key is when the parents come to pick their kids up from the lesson, you have a couple $20s sticking out of the sign in/sign out book so it looks like the last few parents left tips.  Then theyll feel guilty like they have to leave you a tip too.
