  1. It depends.

    Is this a Union shop?

Where is it located (cost of living)?

How many years have you been working there?

    Are you hourly/salary?

What work group are you (engineer, planner, assembler, painter, electrician, tooling, programming, etc)?

I myself make $40.00/hr. I'm an assembler. The one that reads blue prints, drills the holes, installs rivets (drill & fill) with about 28 years total for the company in a Union shop, where wages are negotiated by the Union.

  2. Amateur aircraft builders make at least 51% of their airplanes.

Commercial aircraft builders make the whole thing.

  3. I'll just give you a clue,a Friend of a friend wants me to introduce himself to a relative who's involve in aircraft re-fleeting. Rumor is that 10 new planes would be acquired. This guy promise me that if ever his airplanes would be pick, he is going to give me a brand new luxury car plus 6 to 7 figure commission.

  4. Are you talking the businesses or the workers?

The workers make an acceptable to comfortable amount, usually, unless their union makes them go on strike.

The businesses usually make enough money for a while, until someone makes a better, less expensive product, then they either go broke or develop a new aircraft.
