If I went to university at NYU (If that's in New York City?) I'm 14, and I haven't researched it much. But if I went to NYU and wanted to rent an apartment in NYC, or where ever NYU is, how much would it be (1-2 bedroom apartment) that isn't totally crappy, but not too fancy either. Just a good apartment for a student?

  1. $2,300 for a tiny apartment.  Get some roommates. /

  2. A studio apartment in Manhattan can cost $2000/month.  NYU is down in the Village, one of the most desirable areas of the city.  On Sunday, go find a copy of the New York Times and take a look at the apartment rental listings.  You need an education in the reality of New York City.

  3. You've picked one of the most expensive areas in the nation at which to attend school.  Apartments in that area, for a simple 2 BR, can easily run $3500 or more per month.  If you are willing to live out in Queens or Astoria and take a half hour subway ride to school every day, you can find accommodations for about half that price.
