How much do australian coal miners get paid per week? I have 4 years experience under ground.?

My wife and i are moving back to her native counttry of Australia and we dont know where tostatr looking for work in coal mines there or finding out how much they pay. I have 4 years underground experience and currently work for Massey Energy. Any infprmation would be verey helpful.

  1. Most of the coal mined in Aus. isn't done underground. All open cut. My mate earns about $2000 (less tax) a week driving a big dump truck or operating a drill, on the coalfields in the Hunter Valley.


  2. Don't waste your time with coal - head West - people in WA are earning *bucketloads* - seriously, 100's of thousands of dollars a year just to drive trucks and clean toilets. Even a little know-how gets you more than this.  If you have experience in mines, you'll be set.

    The conditions often suck, and you might not have much time with your wife but you can make enough money to see you through for the next 10 years.

    Coal miners in the east, probably not so flush. Try  http://www.seek.com.au and http://www.careerone.com.au which are the most popular job websites and you'll get plenty of hits for which you'll be able to understand the results of a quick search best.
