My 3 week old baby will sleep ok at night but during the day she will be up for sometimes 3-4 hours at a time fussing. She isn't hungry or wet. I thought newborns just ate and slept all day.

  1. My baby who is under six months wakes at about 6 am, goes back to sleep around 8 am for usually around 2 and a half hours, sleeps around noon, wakes up again about 2 and a half hours later, then shes only awake for about an hour, sleeps for another around 2 and half hours, goes to sleep again at around 8, wakes up at 1030 pm, but settles back to sleep about a half hour later she just wants to be comforted, wakes up at around 2 again but just needs to be comforted again and falls back asleep for another 3 hours or so. So really all they do is sleep and eat and require diaper changes lol..

  2. they are all different but sometimes they can get over tired, when i had my fist child a boy he NEVER slept through the night or for any period longer then 20 minutes, it was a night mare bit my partner and i walked around like zombies, lol. glad to say eh is 25 now and sleeps well, my two daughters slept well from a few weeks old, don't worry hunny just enjoy the time u have with her. leave the housework, as long as its not dirty its fine. (even then a bit of dirt never hurt anyone) i know it can be very very hard when u just have  baby but don't worry give her lots of cuddles, she will love that, and make sure u are relaxing as often as possible. enjoy you little baby and good luck

  3. It depends on the baby. Some will sleep all the time and some won't sleep at all, literally. My mom said I never slept. She said that I cried all of the time unless someone was holding me too. She said that I did this for a whole year. She even took me to the Doctor because she thought something was wrong with me. I was fine and after the first year I was great. My brother on the other hand slept a lot.

Like I said it all depends on the baby.

  4. Is she crying at these times it could be colic there is a medicine called co lief its absolutely brilliant also there is bottles called dr browns i use these my self and i can honestly say they work you can also get the herbal granules from most chemists you just put a few on your baby tongue and that can help upset stomach also when your baby starts to cry sometimes the best thing is to take them out for a walk or a ride in the car or a bath i hope this helps :mother of 3 xxxxxxx ps it does get better remember this stage doesn't last forever
