  1. I am M.O.W and can tell you that a laborer makes $19.67 and it goes up from there. $22.79 is the going rate for foreman of a gang of 25 or more men. There are a few jobs out there that pay between $26-31 an hour on a super surfacing crew. There are other expenses paid for travel, meals and lodging. Starting out you make 90% of full wage, at two years 95% and full pay at 3 years. First year on if you hire on early, say...May, expect to earn about $30,000. Then at three years anywhere from $40,000 to 90,000. The high end money is called blood money and is there if you want it. Also you will be laid off for three months in the winter in some places up north. The raise continues through 2009 at 4%. We pay for health insurance through our monthly wages now instead of our raises. Union dues and tax rates went up too. We really took a pay cut, but the other railroads voted on it with the BNSF. If you want good advice go be a trainman or signal. If you want the best advice, stay as far away from the railroad as possible. Otherwise...you'll see.

  2. Look on their website. Pay is probably some where between $17-25/hr. But remember starting out work will probably be sporadic working odd shifts etc.

  3. Last I heard they made 15 to 16 an hr that was three years ago.
