  1. Depends on amount of experience and safety record. It's not unusual to start out at $14 to $16/hour. Some CDL drivers get a weekly plus bonus pay plan when they work for a food, beverage, or snack distributor, and can do much better than a regular hourly driver. Some FedEx drivers with years of experience earn $24/hour or more..

  2. it depends on what company your pulling for. some pay more then others. some pay you loaded or unloaded and so much a mile.

  3. Most companies do not pay you hourly rates mostly so if you get held up by traffic, repairs customs or refuelling or because you grabbed a snooze because you were tired and would be dangerous to continue. They so many cents per mile or a set rate for the trip, which is conducive to speeding and cooking the books and breaking the mto laws.

  4. This is wide open. Depends on where you live, what your hauling, if the CDL is an A, B, or C. I would say on average $10.00 up to $ 25.00 per hour. I live in South Florida. The top end would be someone hauling fuel in a tractor trailer with an "A" CDL with Tanker and Haz Mat as endorsements. The low end would be someone hauling propane tanks in a van requiring a C CDL with Haz Mat endorsement. Good Luck.
