I want to get into a certain college. The minimum gpa is 2.8 I have a 2.9 or something near there. But I do a lot of activities in school. If u were ever close to the minimum gps and I kknow the chances for you are low, how much could extra activities bring you up? I do band marching band choir chamber choir master choir and the school play. I keep myself busy throughout the school year. Will a college for preforming arts care too much for my gps if I do a lot of activities even thouh my gps is within the required range?

  1. Schools generally like to see a few extracurricular activities, and will consider it as a compensating factor.  However, if you are borderline and have low test scores (SAT/ACT), that may hinder your chances. Schools want to see that academics are important to you: this is what university is about.

Nonetheless, this school's GPA requirement is not extremely high--which means they will probably be lenient with the test scores.  As such, you will probably be accepted.
