How much do colored contacts normally cost..?

it doesn't have to be exact, i just want an estimate, & are they more expensive then glasses?

It depends.

2 week or monthly lenses should cost about 200-250 a year, sometimes less if purchased in bulk, sometimes more in the case of a specialized prescription.

Daily lenses are more expensive. You can expect to spend about 350$ a year. Sometimes more in the case of specialized prescriptions.

You also have to assume the cost of a yearly exam, which is usually around 100$, although sometimes partially covered by insurance.

Reasonably, you can expect to spend between 300-450$ a year.

If you are getting the popular freshlook color brand it is approximately 20-25 dollars a box (6 lenses come in a box).  If you dispose of them every 2 weeks like you are supposed to, you would need to buy 8 boxes to make a years supply.  So in total it would be ~160 to 200 dollars.  

Is it more expensive than glasses?  Don't know, glasses price really depends on the frame you decide to buy.
