  1. I have gas permeable lenses that I pay about $45/lens(if I remember correctly) from Walmart Vision Center. I have never had trouble with them because they are from Walmart and because they are hard lenses, I don't have to keep buying boxes and boxes. I pay once and thats it until I need to get a prescription change or if one breaks or something like that.

  2. Wal - Mart is around $17-20 per box of 6. These are for monthly disposable lenses, which i would recommend. But don't sleep in them. But if you have a different prescription in each eye, then you will need to buy two boxes. I would definitely do this after the eye exam (buying on box for each eye). Usually the doc will recommend something expensive, and charge between 27-50$ a box for the same lenses. If you have astigmatism then the price will go up since you may need special contacts.  A few tips, you may wish to buy rewetting drops in case your eyes dry out in the first weeks.  Also, there is that 1-800 contacts online that sells for less supposedly.

  3. Eye Exam must be paid for first then they are like 20 bucks per box which usually has 6 lenses.

  4. My prescription usually costs around $130 for 4 boxes ( 2 right eye, 2 left eye, equaling 12 sets of contacts in total, which lasts me 6 months)

www.1800contacts.com has most contact lenses for a lot less then what you would pay at your eye doctor's office, but the prescription verification process is HORRIBLE....
