  2. Harness racing drivers can weigh anything they want, it really makes so little difference in the outcome of a race.

    20 years ago at Yonkers Raceway, Jim Marohn (115) was in the same race as Syl King Jr (225).  Because the driver is sitting in a sulky on wheels, as opposed to on the horse's back, don't pay attention to weight in handicapping.

    Most drivers, though, weigh somewhere between 130 and 160.

Well for starters, harness has drivers not jockeys (not meaning to be rude here sorry!!) and they can weigh anything they like, as the sulkies are made of alluminium and are very strong (except when another horse crashes into it at full speed. It did happen once) and can stand up to any weight.
